OUR STORY

DESIGNER

EDXÚ is a London-based, independent fine jewellery brand focusing on handcrafting architectural and mindful jewellery. Our award-winning founder and designer, Edward Xú, started his namesake brand following the dream of creating resonating jewellery designs and inspiring others to a sustainable jewellery life cycle. EDXÚ is awarded and celebrated by The Goldsmiths' Craft and Design Council, major UK jewellery awards, and The Goldsmiths' Centre. The brand is also featured in jewellery, fashion and luxury publications and is worn by singers and celebrities.

EDXÚ is short for Edward Xú. 'ED' represents Edward's life, career and education in London, England, and 'XÚ' signifies his roots and heritage from Canton, China. Having spent half of his life in both places, it is an integral part of our ethos to promote and celebrate different cultures around the world. Ethical and sustainable, curious and innovative, open and inclusive, original and authentic, these values guided and made us who we are.

Edward graduated from Central Saint Martins College, London, in 2011 and went on to work as a jewellery designer for Solange Azagury-Patridge and Tateossian, as well as completing projects for luxury brands, including Ermenegildo Zegna, Canali, Cartier, and Swarovski. Edward completed an MA in luxury brand management at the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom, achieving a distinction in 2020.

JOURNEY

Edward’s interest in jewellery started at a young age while still living in China. He became passionate about fine-crafted objects whilst visiting antique markets in Canton. From decorative porcelain vases in the Tianguang Market to carved gemstone jewellery from Les Puces, Paris, and intricate metal and wooden jewellery boxes found in a Hackney flee market, appreciating these beautiful antiques throughout Edward’s life helped him discover his vocation.

Edward moved to London to study at Central St. Martins College to pursue his dream of becoming a jewellery designer. Edward believes having the ability to observe, understand, and empathise is essential and fortunate for him as a designer.

“I started my namesake brand EDXÚ following the dream of creating resonating designs and inspiring others to a more sustainable jewellery life cycle.”

Edward XÚ

JEWELLERY

Each piece of jewellery encapsulates a special sentiment. Edward's goal is to preserve, reimagine and celebrate this profound relationship between the jewellery and the wearer. EDXÚ jewellery is conceptual, philosophical and non-binary, and the designs are inspired by 20th-century architecture, arts and philosophical stories about life and nature. Edward finds his inspiration from arts in different disciplines, from brutalist architecture and Art-Deco interiors to Cubism paintings and antique jewellery; he believes everything is connected and tells a story. Because of Edward's unique perspectives and vision, each piece of EDXÚ jewellery is a cargo filled with stories and creativity.
