GLACIER RING | 18ct Gold or Platinum

from £810.00

Inspired by melting icebergs and their impact on Antarctic wildlife, the Tears collection is a series of minimalist, metaphorical designs that draw from nature, architecture and Chinese calligraphy. The Tears of Hope Bangle, which won a Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Award in the sustainability category, inspired Edward to create a collection dedicated to global warming. Many of the designs capture melting details and philosophical stories from nature.

The Glacier Ring is a minimalist classic with hand-painted enamel that represents a beautiful yet intoxicating pool of melting ice water, a daunting reality of global warming. Its open-ended design allows for a slight size adjustment, but you should not attempt to resize it yourself as it can damage the enamel. The ring's shape references the skeletons of Antarctic animals, Parametricism architecture and Chinese calligraphy. Like all pieces in this collection, it is crafted from recycled precious metal and features a natural, ethically sourced gemstone. Our skilled craftspeople use century-old techniques to set each stone by hand, creating a perfect finish. The ring is also available in gold & rhodium plated silver, and in plain metal
